BGV Hardware Accelerator was included in the first large-scale study of Ukrainian acceleration programs
The BGV Hardware Accelerator program, implemented by BGV Group Management together with Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, was featured in the first large-scale independent study of Ukrainian acceleration programs prepared by Techosystem in cooperation with Forbes Ukraine.
The study covered 22 acceleration programs, 78 cohorts, and 1,489 startup alumni, becoming the first comprehensive overview of the Ukrainian acceleration market during the full-scale war.
For BGV, participation in the development of such initiatives is part of a systematic approach to investing in the development of science, engineering, and technological entrepreneurship in Ukraine. The company believes that these areas form the foundation of the country’s long-term economic competitiveness.
It is important to create environments where young engineers, researchers, and technology teams can not only learn, but also develop their own products, test solutions, and gain initial access to business expertise and funding.
BGV Hardware Accelerator is one example of this approach. The program combines the university’s engineering base, practical business experience, and support for startup teams working on technological solutions in the fields of robotics, automated manufacturing, MedTech, energy, drones, and AI.
In the Techosystem and Forbes Ukraine study, BGV Hardware Accelerator was recognized as a regional initiative with a strong hardware focus and solid institutional support from the business sector.
The first cohort of the BGV Hardware Accelerator launched in 2024 in partnership with Techosystem and the Ukrainian Startup Fund, receiving more than 35 applications from across Ukraine. The program brought together teams working on solutions in robotics, MedTech, AgriTech, AI, and other technology fields.
Within the accelerator, participants completed training, took part in mentorship sessions, and developed real MVPs with access to the university’s engineering infrastructure and funding from BGV Group Management. The outcomes included working prototypes of technological solutions ranging from components for radio monitoring systems and robotic greenhouse platforms to unmanned ground vehicles, rehabilitation trainers, and rapid prototyping tools.
In December 2025, the second cohort of the program was launched. Its participants are currently developing solutions in cybersecurity, MedTech, SportTech, and infrastructure automation, including technologies for cyber incident simulation, medical solutions for surgical procedures, sports tracking systems, and tools for automating critical infrastructure.
BGV Group Management emphasizes that supporting such initiatives is an investment not only in individual startups, but also in building a new technological ecosystem in Ukraine — one with its own developments, engineering education base, and entrepreneurs capable of creating globally competitive products.
