BGV Group Management offers retail space to businesses affected by Russian strike on Pochaina book market

Posted on 21/08/2026 by News Manager | 86 Views

BGV Group Management is prepared to temporarily provide up to 500 square meters of retail space at Pecherskyi Market to businesses that lost their stalls in the Russian missile strike on the Pochaina book market.

Through the end of November 2026, rent for these businesses will be a symbolic 1 hryvnia. They will pay only for utilities they actually use and expenses related to operating the retail space.

The initiative is designed to help affected businesses resume operations as quickly as possible and continue working in a new location.

Business owners affected by the attack on the Pochaina book market who are interested in reopening at Pecherskyi Market can contact BGV Group Management representative Inna Overchenko at +38 (093) 539-4674 for more information and terms.

“Developing retail infrastructure and supporting entrepreneurship are important parts of BGV Group Management’s work across its development and retail businesses. We invest in modern retail spaces and understand how important they are to local businesses and urban communities. That is why we will offer retail space at our new property at a symbolic rent to businesses that lost their venues at Pochaina, so they can resume operations as quickly as possible. We want to give people the opportunity to keep their businesses running and preserve a community that has been built here over decades,” the BGV Group Management team said.

For nearly 30 years, the Pochaina book market has been an important destination for Kyiv residents, offering fiction and professional books, textbooks, school supplies, and other educational goods.

The Russian missile strike destroyed part of the market’s rows of stalls, leaving businesses without their retail spaces, merchandise, and their ability to stay in business.

The loss is especially significant ahead of the new school year, when demand traditionally rises for school supplies, textbooks, and educational materials.

BGV Group Management’s offer is meant not only to support businesses affected by the attack but also to help preserve the community of sellers and buyers that has grown there over the decades.

Once the discounted period ends, BGV Group Management will discuss mutually beneficial terms with businesses that want to continue operating at Pecherskyi Market.

Background

Pecherskyi Market was acquired by BGV Group Management in March 2026. The company is now assessing the property and shaping its future concept.

BGV Group Management sees city markets as an important part of urban infrastructure — spaces that should be convenient for visitors, comfortable for businesses, and built for modern city life.
