URC 2026: Partners Reaffirm Progress of BGV’s Mining Projects

The progress of BGV’s mining projects received further endorsement from international partners during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026), held in June in Gdańsk, Poland. The company notes that over the past year, investor and partner interest in its mining projects has become significantly stronger and more substantive, with discussions evolving into more practical, next-stage-oriented negotiations focused on advancing cooperation.

At the URC 2026 Business Fair, the BGV team presented three of its flagship mining projects: BGV Graphite, BGV Beryllium, and BGV REE & Zircon.

According to Mariia Kurylo, chief geologist of BGV’s mining division, conversations with potential investors and partners have changed dramatically since last year’s URC in Rome: “A year ago, during the URC in Rome, most discussions focused on Ukraine’s mineral resources in general and the potential of individual deposits. This year, we increasingly talked about BGV as a cohesive system of interconnected projects. Investors are interested not only in the economics of a single asset but also in how different projects reinforce one another and reduce investment risk. That shows growing recognition of our company. More and more often, we are no longer asked what these projects are – we are asked how investors can get involved.”

Importantly, international partners were interested not only in the resource potential of BGV’s projects, but also in the positive impact these projects have on the development of the regions where they are being implemented.

Overall, in the year since URC in Rome, all three of BGV’s core mining projects have moved into new development phases.

The company is in the final stage of preparing a feasibility study for a processing plant and is now completing its final report for the BGV Graphite project, based at the Balakhivske graphite deposit. At the same time, the plant’s documentation is nearly complete and scheduled for state review in early 2027.

The BGV Beryllium project (Perha deposit) has also reached a major milestone. The BGV Group has completed a preliminary feasibility study (PFS) prepared in accordance with international standards.

Meanwhile, the BGV Rare Earth & Zircon project at the Yastrebetske deposit is wrapping up geochemical studies in Canada. The results will lay the groundwork for an internationally compliant technical report on the deposit’s mineral reserves. The company has also begun preparations for metallurgical testing with Finnish technology company Metso to determine the optimal processing flowsheet and end-product manufacturing technology.

During URC 2026, BGV signed a Letter of Intent with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the development of its graphite project. The company also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Metso and Finland’s export credit agency Finnvera to jointly develop critical minerals projects in Ukraine.

The agreements signed at URC 2026 mark another important step forward for BGV. They show that international financial institutions and industrial partners are moving beyond expressions of interest and into practical cooperation. They also confirm international confidence in BGV’s projects and in the broader potential of Ukraine’s critical minerals sector.
