BGV supports the “Sylni Ukrainy” competition for war veterans and service members for the fourth time
The BGV Investment Group, together with the BGV Charitable Foundation, supported the all-Ukrainian “Sylni Ukrainy” competition as partners. This time, the final stage of the season took place in Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region, bringing together nearly 150 military service members and war veterans.
The competition was organized by the Ukrainian Strongman Federation in cooperation with the Berdychiv City Council and the state institution “Mass Sports Agency of Ukraine.”
This year, representatives of 12 military units and formations took part in the competition. The tournament also featured well-known Ukrainian strongmen who are currently defending Ukraine in the Defense Forces, including Oleksii Novikov, winner of the 2020 World’s Strongest Man title and an ambassador for the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
Following the competition, the winners received an SUV, which will be handed over to a military unit. The participants who took second and third place received generators.
Team competitions in the “StrongFit” discipline were organized for veterans with injuries. This is an adapted format with lighter weights. The exercises were performed without rest, requiring a high level of physical fitness and endurance from the participants. The athletes also competed in team adaptive rowing on ergometers over a 100-meter distance and in the “InvaStrong” relay.
For BGV, supporting “Sylni Ukrainy” is an opportunity to contribute to the development of adaptive and veteran sports. The competition brings service members and veterans together through sport, mutual support, and team spirit.
Supporting “Sylni Ukrainy” is part of BGV’s long-term focus on developing veteran sports and supporting sporting initiatives that bring veterans and service members together.
