BGV and Veolia launch strategic partnership in infrastructure, energy, and waste management in Ukraine

BGV Group Management and Veolia in Ukraine are launching a strategic partnership in the fields of infrastructure, energy, and waste management in Ukraine. The parties have signed a memorandum of cooperation and declared their intention to develop joint activities in these sectors.

Investment company BGV Group Management and Veolia Holding Ukraine, part of the Veolia Group – the global leader in water, waste, and energy management – have signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation. The document lays the foundation for a long-term partnership to implement joint investment projects and develop Ukraine’s modern environmental infrastructure.

The cooperation covers a wide range of areas, including infrastructure, renewable energy, water supply and treatment, heat and electricity generation from waste (waste-to-energy), and waste management.

Under the Memorandum, the parties will jointly ensure project preparation, investment assessment, and subsequent implementation.

“Combining Veolia’s global expertise and scale with our ability to act as an investment partner, structure, and finance complex projects in Ukraine creates real potential. We see not only investment logic here, but also a contribution to the reconstruction and development of the country on modern and sustainable foundations,” said Oleksii Tymofieiev, Member of the Board of Directors of BGV Group Management.

“Ukraine needs not only reconstruction but also infrastructure modernization in line with the highest standards. The partnership between Veolia and BGV Group Management combines international expertise and Ukrainian investment to implement projects in water supply, energy, and waste management. This will enable communities to benefit from modern and energy-efficient infrastructure,” said Yevhen Kalinin, CEO of Veolia Ukraine.

Background

BGV Group Management is a Ukrainian investment company founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Gennadii Butkevych, co-owner of the ATB Corporation. The Group invests in the extraction and processing of critical minerals, energy, real estate development and construction materials manufacturing, retail, education, and sports. During the years of the full-scale war, BGV Group has remained among Ukraine’s largest domestic investors, consistently investing in the development of Ukrainian assets and the country’s economic recovery. The company also operates its own corporate charitable foundation, the BGV Foundation.

The Veolia Group is a global leader in environmental services and aims to become the benchmark company for ecological transformation. Present on five continents, the Group employs approximately 215,000 people in 56 countries. Through its three complementary business activities – water, waste, and energy management – Veolia helps develop access to resources, preserve existing resources, and replenish them.

In 2025, Veolia Environnement (Paris Euronext: VIE) generated consolidated revenue of approximately €44.4 billion. Veolia has been operating in Ukraine for more than two decades.
