The BGV Group Management team, led by the group’s investor Hennadii Butkevych, took part in the international conference on the recovery of Ukraine - Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023, which took place on June 21-22 in London. BGV presented to the world community two of the largest investment group’s projects, including the Balakhiv graphite deposit in the Kirovohrad region and the Perzhan beryllium ore deposit in the Zhytomyr region. 

 Serhii Voitsekhovskyi, a BGV Group Management Directors Board member, during his speech at the panel discussion, emphasized that investment in mining and further processing of raw materials is one of the main company’s focuses. Thus, the Group and Hennadii Butkevych as its founder have already invested more than 100 million dollars in Ukrainian mining projects in 8 years, which will potentially lead Ukraine to world leaders in certain raw material areas. As part of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023, Serhii Voitsekhovskyi shared plans and the status of works on the Group’s largest projects, demonstrating significant progress in the mining business direction despite the full-scale war in the country. 

 Within the framework of the Balakhiv project, the BGV team is currently performing the 2nd stage of the beneficiation factory pilot tests and is completing the project of the production complex and experimental-industrial tests of graphite. It is noted that the pilot tests, carried out by the specialized European research center ANZAPLAN, confirmed the high quality of the products: the productivity of the BGV enterprises spherical graphite samples for lithium-ion batteries is higher than the average market indicators and according to certain characteristics is close to the theoretical maximum. Next year, 2024, the company is already planning to start construction of one of the largest production complexes in Europe, the potential capacity of which will be 50 thousand tons of high-quality graphite concentrate per year and 19 thousand tons of spherical graphite for lithium-ion batteries. This, the company’s experts note, will cover a significant part of the EU market needs. 

 The second project that attracted the interest of the international investment community was the Perzhan complex beryllium deposit, which has reserves of 2.34 million tons of ore. The deposit’s comprehensiveness provides the opportunity for the associate extraction of zinc, rare earth elements and other critical materials. The BGV team is currently working on a preliminary feasibility study (PFS) and will soon be ready to officially present its results to investors.
