The BGV Charity Fund celebrates its third anniversary. Message from the founders
Today, the BGV Charity Fund celebrates its third anniversary.
To mark this milestone, we share a message from the fund’s founders—the family of Gennadii Butkevych.

“In 2023, the 50 largest charitable organizations in Ukraine collectively raised 37 billion hryvnias, and we are proud that the BGV Charity Fund is part of this distinguished group. Overall, charitable contributions in 2023 amounted to 2-2.5% of GDP—a figure that would have seemed unimaginable just a decade ago. Ten years ago, the first companies within the BGV Group Management were established.
It was also then, in 2015, that our journey in corporate philanthropy began. Our initial humanitarian projects were carried out through social agreements between businesses and local communities—renovating schools, hospitals, and restoring village infrastructure. We focused on supporting areas crucial to regional development and the well-being of local residents. Until 2022, charity was an expression of responsibility. Now, it has become a form of collective fight—one that unites us all.
Three years of full-scale war have passed. Without question, sustaining long-term charitable efforts has become more challenging. International humanitarian aid is decreasing, and securing funding for individual initiatives is becoming harder. Yet, the tireless spirit and determination of Ukrainians keep projects, teams, and the entire country moving forward. Our motivation comes from a deep commitment to preserving our dignity—an unyielding force that drives both our charitable work and our business.
We continue to deliver humanitarian aid, fund charitable initiatives, and seek support from international partners. We are expanding the scope of our projects, increasing the number of beneficiaries, and strengthening our foundation team to enhance efficiency. For every hryvnia the BGV business group contributes, we are able to attract an additional five hryvnias from our partners—proof of the trust we’ve built, the power of collective effort, and the multiplier effect of our work. When we officially established the fund in March 2022, the BGV Group Management team loaded trucks, delivered aid to frontline areas, sourced equipment for defenders, and rallied support from around the world. We did it together—not just as colleagues, but as people—people willing to stand up for their homes and values.
Today, our team has implemented over 70 charity projects, collaborated with 40 international partners, provided assistance to more than 200,000 beneficiaries, and raised 1.2 billion hryvnias to support vulnerable communities and the military. None of this would be possible without the dedication and hard work of every team member—for which I am deeply grateful.
We remain committed to our charitable mission. We put dignity first—in every action and in every way.”
