South Korea is interested in Ukrainian CRMs: BGV presented mining projects in Seoul
Investment company BGV Group Management took part in the Asian Leadership Conference 2025 in Seoul (South Korea) — one of the leading international platforms that brings together government, business, and scientific leaders to discuss key global development challenges. During the panel discussion “The Foundation of the Future Economy: Energy and Critical Minerals”, the BGV team presented its projects as part of a broader vision of Ukraine as a future hub of the new economy — a reliable supplier of critical raw materials for global supply chains and a country capable of offering new industrial solutions.
Sergii Voitsekhovskyi, a member of the board of directors at BGV Group Management, shared updates on the Group’s progress across various production areas. In particular, as part of the BGV Graphite project at the Balakhivske deposit in the Kirovohrad region, samples of spherical graphite (SPG) have been obtained to support the further development of CSPG manufacturing technology. Ongoing work includes testing for coating spherical graphite, battery production, thermal enrichment of graphite, and the production of spherical graphite, along with the development of basic engineering for the enrichment plant. These efforts are being carried out in partnership with leading international companies such as Metso (Finland), AETC (USA), and others.
In addition, Sergii Voitsekhovskyi presented to the international community the prospects for the development of areas related to beryllium, titanium, zirconium, molybdenum, and rare earth elements in Ukraine.
Also, within the framework of the Asian Leadership Conference 2025, the BGV team held a number of meetings with representatives of Korean business. Negotiations were held with POSCO International Corporation, which is interested in diversifying the supply of raw materials for high-tech industries, as well as with the investment company BASE HD Co., which operates in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial investment segments.
“South Korea has unique technologies and engineering expertise. We see huge synergy in combining Ukraine’s potential with the industrial and scientific leadership of the Republic of Korea. This is one of the strongest innovative economies in the world — the No. 1 country in terms of public investment in science (4.8% of GDP), a country in the TOP 5 in terms of the number of international patents. Cooperation with Korean partners is a chance not only to attract technologies, but also to jointly create added value in Ukraine and develop a new economy, where critical minerals are not raw materials, but the starting point of an industrial breakthrough,” emphasized Sergii Voitsekhovskyi.
