Restoration of the Church of St. Nicholas, in particular its main part, a unique sacred organ, will cost Ukraine tens of millions of hryvnias after the fire on September 3.Hennadii Butkevych’s investment company, BGV Group Management, joins the domestic business fundraising to restore one of the most outstanding cultural monuments of our country.

UAH 1 million from BGV Group has already been allocated for the restoration of the church in the center of Kyiv.

“The Church of St. Nicholas is a gem of Ukraine’s cultural heritage. Now that it has been damaged in the fire, the consequences must be corrected immediately, and Ukrainian business can’t stay away. That’s why helping the state in restoring the church is also our task. I have no doubt that it is by joint efforts that we’ll restore the monument of national importance,” the company’s chairperson, Hennadii Butkevych,

Note

St. Nicholas Church in Kyiv is one of two Roman Catholic churches in the capital built before 1917.

The church was built in 1899-1909 in the neo-Gothic style by Kyiv architect Vladyslav Horodetskyi.

Currently, the Church of St. Nicholas is divided between the National House of Organ and Chamber Music of Ukraine as a concert venue, and the parish of St. Nicholas of the Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine, which conducts services for the religious community.
