Business and community cooperation: BGV joins dining hall renovation and boiler room construction at Khochynsky Lyceum

Posted on 14/10/2025 by News Manager | 18 Views

Companies within the BGV Group, particularly Perzhanska Ore Company LLC, in partnership with the BGV Charitable Foundation, are continuing to support social and educational initiatives. As part of this effort, the dining hall at the Khochynsky Lyceum of the Olevsk City Council in the Zhytomyr region has been renovated. This marks the second phase of assistance to the school; earlier in 2025, its heating system was upgraded.

The Khochynsky Lyceum currently enrolls 115 students. Founded in 1939, the institution required renovation.

The dining hall covers 110 sq. m and is designed to accommodate 60 children at a time. To ensure comfortable conditions, the premises were insulated and refurbished to modern standards, new furniture was purchased, drainage was installed, and a boiler was connected.

The Khochynsky Lyceum’s heating system was replaced at the end of 2025. Previously, the building was heated by stoves, insufficient to maintain adequate temperatures during the cold season. The construction of a 150 kW solid-fuel boiler room equipped with a generator now ensures heat for two academic buildings and the dining hall, even during power outages.

The new boiler room was built through co-financing from the Olevsk community budget and private partners. The local budget allocated UAH 2 million, while the BGV Group of Gennadii Butkevych, through Perzhanska Ore Company LLC and the BGV Charitable Foundation, contributed an additional UAH 1.2 million. The dining hall was fully renovated with patrons’ funds, totaling nearly UAH 900,000.

“We consistently support social initiatives in the region, and this project is another example of effective cooperation between local authorities and business. It’s important that children learn in comfortable conditions, and we’re glad that, through our joint efforts, we’ve been able to create them at the Khochynsky Lyceum,” said Viktor Tanai, head of Perzhanska Ore Company LLC.

For reference:

The Zhytomyr region is a strategic priority for the BGV Group and its founder, Gennadii Butkevych, where the company concentrates most of its business projects and social initiatives. Since 2015, the group has invested more than 3.5 billion UAH in major regional projects across mining, construction, development, recreation, education, and sports. These funds support both the expansion of the group’s own projects and the attraction of additional external investment, aiming to stimulate economic growth, strengthen education, and create new jobs in the region.
