BGV has invested nearly UAH 10.5 billion in Ukrainian economy since start of full-scale war

BGV Group Management has continued to invest consistently in Ukrainian projects, despite the ongoing full-scale war. Since 2022, the company has allocated nearly UAH 10.5 billion (around USD 260 million) towards the development of Ukrainian assets. In 2025 alone, BGV invested approximately UAH 4.3 billion (USD 104 million) in the country’s economy.

Over the past four years (from 2022 to 2026), capital investments by Gennadii Butkevych’s business group have grown by 116%, reflecting the company’s ongoing expansion and its commitment to advancing its investment projects in Ukraine. In 2025, BGV’s investment strategy concentrated on sectors of strategic significance for Ukraine’s economy, with a primary emphasis on production and development. The company has also consistently directed funds into mining projects, the energy sector, and retail.

Among the main production assets that BGV invested in during 2025 were the manufacturing of PORISTON aerated concrete products at the facilities of the now-privatized Aeroс plant, as well as the development and modernization of the Zeleny Park LLC paper mill.

In terms of development, the company carried out major residential and commercial projects, including the construction of the “Zhyto” regional shopping center and the acquisition of the Zhytomyr TSUM [Central Department Store – ed.].

In the mining sector, BGV completed the basic engineering for the enrichment plant in 2025 and initiated the design of the main facilities, preparing for the construction of a mining and processing plant at the Balakhiv graphite ore deposit. In 2025, the company launched a comprehensive program to extract and process graphite ore from the Balakhiv deposit, aiming to produce a pilot batch of graphite concentrate. The team also succeeded in producing anode material from spherical graphite and conducted tests on research samples of lithium-ion batteries. Additionally, BGV invested in drilling exploration wells to assess the quantity and quality of zircon-rare-earth-fluorite ore reserves at the Yastrebetske deposit in the Zhytomyr region. In 2025, working with SGS Canada, the company also completed the calculation of beryllium ore reserves at the Perzhanske deposit in accordance with the international NI 43-101 standard.

In the energy sector, in 2025, the company funded its first project—building a complex of distributed energy facilities with a total installed capacity of 35 MW.

In 2025, in the retail sector, the company opened 18 new KOLO stores, adding 1,220 sq. m of retail space. It also invested in boosting the network’s energy resilience by purchasing backup power systems to ensure uninterrupted store operations during power outages.

Investments in education and sports, along with ongoing charitable support, remain key focuses for BGV. In 2025 alone, the company allocated around UAH 404 million to charitable initiatives and programs. Since March 2022, the total assistance provided by BGV, including through its charitable foundation, has exceeded UAH 1.5 billion.

BGV continues to solidify its reputation as one of Ukraine’s largest private investors, pursuing a long-term investment strategy focused on supporting and developing vital infrastructure and strategic sectors of the Ukrainian economy.
