BGV Group Management handed over the equipment for the construction of protective structures to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
Ukrainian border guards in Cherkasy have launched their own production of concertina razor wire, a special barbed wire used to build the Ukrainian border. Thus, the investment company BGV Group Management, in response to a request from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, purchased special lines for barbed wire production and handed them over to border guards. Already at the end of October, the State Border Guard Service set up a shop for the production of wires, which are already protecting the Ukrainian border.
Production will be carried out exclusively for the needs of the border service. They plan to make barbed wire for the entire border of the country and then make new batches needed to replace the damaged areas.
Today, the total need of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine for such a wire is about 300 thousand items. According to border guards, the cost of self-production is three times cheaper than the price offered by private producers. Therefore, with the assistance of BGV Group Management, in addition to high-quality border management, the State Border Guard Service results in significant savings and, as a result, acceleration of the Wall project.
It should be noted that to minimize budget expenditures, the Border Guard Service initiated amendments to the List of Economic Activities Permitted to Military Units of the Armed Forces. Such changes gave border guards the right to produce wire products, chains, and springs. Therefore, from now on, the Border Guard Service has every reason to independently produce a wire to protect the Ukrainian borders.
Note:
The Wall project is a separation barrier along the land border between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. Ukraine began its construction after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014. The project envisages the engineering and technical arrangement of the state border (fenced roads, barriers, ditches, shafts, technical devices) to ensure monitoring and deterrence of illegal border crossing by smugglers, sabotage groups. The planned end of construction is 2025.
